Enrollment Requirements

To enroll, you must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or its equivalent. If you are enrolling in a board certification program, you must meet all eligibility criteria as outlined in the specific program description. Documentation of eligibility may be required upon request.

What’s Included With Your Enrollment

Your tuition covers full access to the McAfee Institute’s 100% online, self-paced learning platform. It includes digital course materials, instructional and student support services, and one attempt at the proctored, closed-book final examination for board certification programs.

Program Format and Completion Requirements

Board certification programs are delivered entirely online and are self-paced. Once enrolled, you will have lifetime access to the course content. However, the final examination license is valid for one year from the date of enrollment. Students are required to complete all lessons and quizzes with a score of 70 percent or higher and must also pass the final examination with a score of at least 70 percent. You may retake prep review quizzes until you reach a score of 90 percent. If you do not pass the final exam, you must purchase a new exam license for a non-refundable fee of $450.

Non-board certification programs are also fully online and self-paced, with lifetime access granted upon enrollment. Digital course materials are included if applicable.

The McAfee Institute’s curriculum is designed to prepare you for real-world law enforcement and intelligence work. As such, you may encounter sensitive or explicit content including but not limited to adult language, depictions of death, nudity, scenes of violence, terrorism, substance abuse, political and religious analysis, racial and ethnic tensions, and real-world criminal case studies. These topics are included solely for educational purposes and to prepare you for the realities of the field. By enrolling, you acknowledge and accept the inclusion of such content. If at any point you feel discomfort, we encourage you to reach out to an instructor or program coordinator for guidance.

Enrollment, Refunds, and Cancellations

Your program begins immediately upon receipt of payment. You have the right to cancel this agreement within three calendar days of enrollment, provided you have not viewed more than five percent of the program and have not downloaded any course content. Refunds, if applicable, will be processed within three business days using the original payment method.

Transferability of Credits

McAfee Institute makes no guarantee regarding the transferability of certifications, CPE credits, or coursework to other institutions. Acceptance of earned credentials is solely at the discretion of the receiving institution. Students should confirm transferability with any institution they may wish to attend in the future.

Graduation Requirements

To graduate from a board certification program, you must complete all course quizzes and lessons, obtain a score of 70 percent or higher on all assessments and the final exam, and submit proof of eligibility when applying for your final exam. Credentials will be issued once these requirements are met and all financial obligations are fulfilled. Students who complete the program before submitting eligibility will be placed in a holding pattern until such documentation is received.

Professional Conduct and Certification Revocation

McAfee Institute reserves the right to revoke any certification for violations of professional conduct or breach of ethics.

Transcript Requests

Transcripts are available upon request at any time during enrollment, provided that the student’s account is in good standing. A processing fee of $35 applies to each transcript request.

Privacy Policy

McAfee Institute complies with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) to protect student education records. Student directory information may be disclosed to third-party organizations for credential verification unless you opt out. To opt out, send a written request including your name and address to McAfee Institute, 695 Trade Center Blvd, STE 110, Chesterfield, MO 63005.

Payment Policies and Default Status

Returned payments due to insufficient funds will incur a non-refundable $20 fee. Payments under a payment plan are due in 30-day increments unless otherwise arranged. A $20 late fee applies if a payment is more than 10 days late. If a payment is not received within 30 days of the due date, the account will be placed in Default Status and assessed a $199 non-refundable default fee. Students in Default Status may be denied access to the course platform, credentials, certifications, and transcripts until their account is paid in full.

Scholarships and Promotional Offers

Scholarship offers, discounts, and promotions may not be combined or applied to previous purchases. McAfee Institute offers a price match guarantee for seven days following purchase. If the price of a program drops during that period, students may request a credit for the difference to be applied to a future purchase.

Collections and Legal Rights

McAfee Institute complies with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the California Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. We do not utilize third-party collection agencies. Any defenses or claims available under a promissory note may be asserted directly against McAfee Institute.

Copyright and Intellectual Property

All McAfee Institute course content, materials, and websites are protected by intellectual property laws. Students are granted a limited, non-transferable license to use course content for personal, non-commercial use. Content may not be modified, copied, reproduced, or distributed without express written permission from McAfee Institute.

Program Charges

Total charges for the current period of attendance are $797. Estimated total charges for the entire program are $797. Total charges due upon enrollment are $797. All fees and charges are in U.S. dollars.

Agreement and Final Acknowledgment

By proceeding with enrollment, you confirm that you have reviewed the course description, understand the curriculum and offer, and meet all stated eligibility requirements. You acknowledge that this agreement is legally binding and that selecting “I agree” constitutes your digital signature. This agreement becomes valid and enforceable once signed and accepted by the institution.
